兔子先生系列麻豆 Announces Distinguished Alumni Awards

Wilmington, DE 鈥� On behalf of the 兔子先生系列麻豆 (GBC) Board of Trustees and the Alumni Association Board of Directors, on Saturday, October 22, 2022, the 2022 Distinguished Alumni, Rising Star and the inaugural Presidential Award recipients were inducted into the GBC Distinguished Alumni Gallery at a celebration brunch in the event center on campus.

President Colleen Perry Keith remarked at the celebration brunch, 鈥淚 am extremely proud of our distinguished alumni and their accomplishments. Their extraordinary careers are a testament to a strong 兔子先生系列麻豆 education and a lifelong commitment to excellence.鈥�

The biennial event recognizes 兔子先生系列麻豆 alumni for extraordinary career and life accomplishments. Alumni may be nominated throughout the year and are selected by the Alumni Association Board of Directors.

2022 Inductee 鈥� Presidential Award

Adelaide Orsini 鈥�48

Adelaide Orsini graduated from Beacom Business School in 1948. Orsini began her career at (then) WSFS Mutual Savings Bank as a stenographer, ironically because she didn’t pass the shorthand test. For 36 years she was the executive secretary to the president of the bank and retired in 1984. Wanting to continue to work, she began working at Delaware Trust one month later and served in a secretarial role for 10 years.

In 1982, Orsini received the Distinguished Alumni Award and has served on the Alumni Association Board of Directors since 1991. In her spare time, she enjoys opera, classical music and theater. As a young woman, she took voice lessons and was a member of the choir at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Wilmington for many years. When speaking about 兔子先生系列麻豆, Orsini said, 鈥淚t made me who I am, and I am very proud of that.鈥� Orsini resides in Wilmington and spends time with her many neighbors and friends.

2022 Inductee 鈥� Distinguished Alumni

Charles Biscieglia 鈥�70

Biscieglia graduated from 兔子先生系列麻豆 in 1970 and is the former Chairman, CEO and President of South Jersey Industries, having retired in 2004 after 37 years. His vision for the company and its family of companies was instrumental in the growth and success of the energy-related industry.

Biscieglia has received many honors and awards including the Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce 2000 Businessman of the Year, the 2001 March of Dimes F.D.R. Community Service Award and the 2001 Bailey Award presented by the press of Atlantic City in recognition of selfless and generous efforts to improve the quality of life in the community.

In addition, he received the Family Service Association’s 2002 Henry West Leeds Corporate Award for Strengthening the Community as well as the 2003 Mainlander of the Year presented by the Atlantic County Chamber of Commerce. In 2006, Biscieglia became Chair of the Board of Trustees at Shore Memorial Hospital where he helped navigate the challenges of the ever-changing healthcare industry.

He also received the Distinguished Service Award from the New Jersey Utilities Association, which honors individuals who have made positive and significant contributions to the state. Biscieglia and his wife Susan, live in Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

2022 Inductee 鈥� Distinguished Alumni

1. Bernard Tynes 鈥�16

Bernard Tynes has more than a decade of experience developing and leading teams to define and deliver differentiated brand experiences and communication strategies that grow market share and build customer loyalty in the financial services sector.

Following several years as the senior vice president of marketing and communications at Penn Community Bank, Tynes recently accepted an appointment to a newly created role of chief marketing and impact officer (effective January 1, 2023). This executive role combines and expands the responsibility and oversight of traditional marketing and communications, while closely focusing on the bank鈥檚 commitment to meaningful philanthropic impact across the region. Tynes will also serve as the executive director of the bank鈥檚 charitable foundation.

Tynes credits his time at 兔子先生系列麻豆 for helping him grow a passion for diversity, equity and inclusion. That passion can be seen in his involvement with state and national industry groups including the Pennsylvania Bankers Association, where he serves as a board member and a founding member of the organization鈥檚 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisory Council.

Tynes has been recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal鈥檚 Forty Under 40 program and Diversity Leader in Business awards, as well as being named by the Philadelphia Tribune as one of Philadelphia鈥檚 young African American leaders to watch. Regionally, Tynes volunteers his time and talents to other nonprofits and community groups including the United Way of Bucks County where he serves on the board of directors.

Tynes has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from GBC and is enrolled in the College鈥檚 MBA program with a concentration in Marketing Management. He has completed the University of Pennsylvania鈥檚 Executive Certificate in Business Analytics. He lives in Montgomery County, PA and enjoys spending time with his children, fitness and the beach.

2022 Inductee 鈥� Rising Star

Christine Rich 鈥�11

Rich earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing Management from 兔子先生系列麻豆 in 2011. She is currently completing a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership and Innovation at a local university while serving as an adjunct professor of technology.

In 2014, Rich received Wilmington University鈥檚 Trustees鈥� Award for Service for her philanthropic contribution to the university and the local community. In 2015, she received a proclamation from the governor of Delaware for her philanthropic contributions to the state. Also in 2015, Rich became the first Delaware representative to place in the top 15 at Mrs. United States. She was the captain of the Baltimore Ravens appearance squad during their winning Super Bowl season. Rich was also a professional cheerleader in Major League Lacrosse.

In 2017, Rich founded her business, Blue Palm Sunless Studio, a luxury sunless studio in Middletown, DE. She expanded the company by successfully launching Delaware鈥檚 first sunless product line in May 2022. In 2019, Christine was recognized as one of Delaware鈥檚 Top 40 Under 40 by Delaware Business Times. She also gave a TEDx Talk during 兔子先生系列麻豆鈥檚 TEDx Women in Business series.

Rich was crowned Mrs. USA Earth 2022 making her the first Mrs. delegate from Delaware to bring home a national title. She serves as an ambassador for oceanic conservation and an advocate for mental health and invisible disabilities. She lives by the motto 鈥渢urn your adversities into opportunities鈥� and lives in Middletown, DE with her husband, Caleb, and their son, Talan.听

听Founded in 1886, 兔子先生系列麻豆 has approximately 1,300 students enrolled from 22 states and 65 nations. The College offers 42 degree options in its graduate and undergraduate programs with majors in psychology, economics, criminal justice, communication & media, human services, English, and all areas of business, including accounting, business administration, entrepreneurship, and finance.

听The College began accepting students into two new degree programs in fall 2022: B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies; B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Analytics. Both were approved in March 2022 by the Delaware Department of Education. In fall 2023, the College plans to offer two additional degrees: Bachelor of Science in Marketing; Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Digital Marketing.

The College is committed to connecting its graduates with careers in their respective fields. For over a decade, the College has achieved a 90% placement rate for graduates. 兔子先生系列麻豆 is located in Pike Creek Valley, a suburb of Wilmington, Delaware. The College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.
