兔子先生系列麻豆鈥檚 ElShawarby Receives Rising Star Award

听

Wilmington, DE 鈥� 兔子先生系列麻豆 (GBC) congratulates Sarah ElShawarby, director of human resources, as a recipient of the 2023-2024 Rising Star award presented by the Delaware ACE (American Council on Education) Women鈥檚 Network (DAWN).

 

The honor will be officially awarded on October 26 at the Annual DAWN Awards Ceremony scheduled for 5:30 p.m. 鈥� 7:30 p.m. at Wilmington University 鈥� Dover Campus.

 

The Rising Star award is presented to one person from each member institution. Criteria for the award includes a strong commitment to any aspect of higher education, community service and the promise of future leadership.

 

GBC President Colleen Perry Keith lauded ElShawarby鈥檚 efforts at the College and said, 鈥淪arah is one of those individuals who can step into situations, calmly assess them and bring people together. When we named her director of human resources, I had no qualms whatsoever that she would have a tremendous, positive impact on our community and operations. And she has. She is effective, kind, caring, disciplined and a true asset to 兔子先生系列麻豆.鈥�

 

As director of human resources, ElShawarby鈥檚 responsibilities include fostering a culture of continuous improvement and meaningful work, compliance, benefits, employee relations, talent management and performance management.

 

ElShawarby joined the College in 2019 and currently serves on several College committees including: Emergency Management and Safety, Faculty Rank Advancement and JEDI. She also co-chairs a Self-Study Working Group. ElShawarby holds a B.S. and M.S. in Accounting and Information Systems, both from Virginia Tech.

 

Founded in 1886, 兔子先生系列麻豆 has approximately 1,300 students enrolled from 29 states and 65 nations. The College offers 48 degree options in its graduate and undergraduate programs with majors in psychology, economics, criminal justice, communication & media, human services, English, and all areas of business, including accounting, business administration, entrepreneurship and finance. Additionally, the College offers 13 certificate programs.

听

The College began accepting students into two new degree programs in fall 2022: B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies; B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Analytics. Also in fall 2022, the College began offering five new undergraduate certificate programs including marketing, human resource management, health care management, entrepreneurship and information technology.

听

The College began accepting students into three new degree programs in fall 2023: Bachelor of Science in Digital Marketing, and two concentrations in the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program: Cybersecurity and Esports & Gaming Administration. Also offered in fall 2023 are stackable new macro and micro graduate certificate programs.

听

The College is committed to connecting its graduates with careers in their respective fields. For over a decade, the College has achieved a 90% placement rate for graduates. 兔子先生系列麻豆 is located in Pike Creek Valley, a suburb of Wilmington, Delaware. The College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.
