BEACOM an Alumni Board Member

The Alumni Association Board is designed to have 25 active members. We are always looking for passionate and committed individuals who are willing to contribute their time, skills, and expertise to help further our mission and goals.

As a board member, you will work closely with other members to make strategic decisions, provide guidance, and oversee the overall direction of the organization. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and with a range of experiences.

The purpose of the Board is to create a diverse council of alumni who are engaged annually with the college through event attendance, financial support, social media presence, campus/event volunteerism and meeting attendance.

Key responsibilities

Strengthen alumni engagement with one another and the College
Commit to a term of 3 years (members)/2 years (Officers)
Attend 4 board meetings per year
Dedicate an expected 10 hours of time per quarter to board work outside of the board meetings
Actively participate in your assigned working committees(s) and other Board initiatives in between meetings
Participate in selecting winners for the bi-annual DAG Alumni Awards

Attend any GBC alumni events as an Alumni Board Ambassador
Set an example by contributing to the GBC Annual Fund according to personal means
Serve as an advocate for GBC out in the field and with your alumni community (regional/class/degree cohorts) by staying informed of news and issues affecting the College by engaging with printed and digital communications
Seek out and encourage talented alumni to consider running for the Board in the next election cycle
Post college information, event details and photos on personal social media outlets if applicable
